Hello there

My name is Borovcnik Peter, using Unix's for over 20 years now.

Since linux appeared at the unix world, it took only few years to blow away nearly every classical unix drivates. On the late 90's some of our customers this time, run into the problem of having business-critical unix environements, while the main supplier has broken down too.

I was already playing arround with slakeware, redhat and suse, trying to fit all our customers requierements into one of those distibutions. I run into many problems, specially in getting up a running zope instance. While working on all this stuff, i found the wonderfull documents of linuxfromscratch, and suddenly weblinux was born. Basically a 60kb bash script, containing all downloadadresses of sourcecode, doing all the crosscompile steps resulting in a functional bootserver (only chrootet this time), waking up a waiting notebook to proove the whole thing.

Could it be that easy ? ... yes it is that easy !

Today, webLinux has changed to fully functional graphical environments, using VServer when ever is needed. I'm watching TV inside virtual Servers, fully configured by autosensing mechanisms, my whole ISP solution is running on several physikal engines, but all services are kept within the virtual environments.

It's really the missing thing within the original kernel.

Currently, I'm running weblinux 4.4.3, linux 2.6.22.10, Vserver 2.2.0.5, kde 3.5.0

Many thanks to Herbert Hölzl, to everbody contributing something, somewhere inside Linux VServer, everbody working on GPL stuff and anyone else, giving help in building a better world.
